"God is tired of hearing the same confessions from me decade after decade"
How it sounds in your head: I've confessed this sin a thousand times. Maybe ten thousand. How many times can I come back with the same failure before God says 'Enough'? His patience must be exhausted. I'm exhausting HIM with my repeated confessions.
"Through the LORD's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness."
-- Lamentations 3:22-23Source: Religious concept that grace has limits and repeated confession exhausts God's patience like a frustrated parent
The same sins for fifty years feel like proof that confession has become meaningless and God must be weary of hearing it. The enemy presents God as exasperated rather than eager to cleanse.
Peter denied Jesus THREE TIMES in one night—same sin, repeated immediately, catastrophic failure. Jesus asked him THREE TIMES 'Do you love Me?' giving him three opportunities to CONFESS love—mirror of mercy, not record-keeping.
I REFUSE the lie that my repeated confessions exhaust God's patience. IT IS WRITTEN that His compassions are NEW every morning—not recycled, not diminished, but FRESH. My Father doesn't tire of cleansing me; He DELIGHTS in it. IT IS WRITTEN in Hebrews 10:17 that He says 'Their sins and lawless deeds I will remember NO MORE.' He doesn't keep records of repeated confessions. The BARAK blessing covered Israel through FORTY YEARS of repeated rebellion in the wilderness. God isn't tired. He's TIRELESS in mercy. I come boldly to the throne of grace because His compassions NEVER fail, and His cleansing NEVER exhausts.
The Father doesn't roll His eyes at your ten-thousandth confession. He runs toward you the ten-thousandth time with the SAME joy as the first—new mercy, new morning, new embrace.
