"God is teaching me patience through this suffering."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe I needed to slow down, learn dependence. God must be using this pain to build character I was missing. Suffering sanctifies—that's what I've always been taught. This must be His curriculum for my final years.
"How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him."
-- Acts 10:38Religious lie that makes God the author of suffering instead of the enemy, perverting Father's heart into a cosmic torturer.
Decades of sermons presented trials as God's teaching tool, and finding meaning in pain feels more spiritual than demanding healing. Suffering seems humble; healing demands seem arrogant.
Disciples asked whose sin caused his blindness—Jesus said NEITHER, but that God's works should be revealed. Then He HEALED him instantly. The purpose wasn't lifelong suffering; it was immediate manifestation of God's power.
I REFUSE the lie that God authors my suffering. IT IS WRITTEN in Acts 10:38 that Jesus healed ALL who were oppressed by the DEVIL—sickness comes from the enemy, not the Father. God is not teaching me through pain; He's inviting me into healing. IT IS WRITTEN in John 10:10 that the thief comes to steal, kill and destroy, but Jesus came to give ABUNDANT LIFE. Pain is not curriculum—it's the enemy's work that Jesus came to destroy. I am covered by the BARAK blessing that declares health and life over me.
The Father isn't standing back watching you suffer to see if you'll learn—He's already running toward you with healing in His hands because your pain BREAKS His heart. The cross was Jesus suffering so you DON'T have to; don't despise that gift by calling suffering holy.
