I REFUSE the lie that ongoing pain means failed forgiveness. IT IS WRITTEN that God's mercies are new EVERY morning—which means I can bring the same hurt to Him daily. Forgiveness is a journey, not a destination. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus said forgive seventy times seven—not once perfectly. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, and needing fresh grace for old wounds doesn't frustrate Him—it reveals His endless compassion.
The Father doesn't expect you to forgive once and never feel pain again. He sees the ongoing choice to release the offense, and He honors every moment you choose His grace over your right to bitterness—even when you have to choose it again tomorrow.
