"God is disappointed I'm questioning and doubting everything I was taught."
How it sounds in your head: I used to just believe what I was told. Now I'm questioning everything—theology, church, what's true. People say I'm backsliding or losing my faith. God must be so disappointed I'm not just accepting it all anymore.
"It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter."
-- Proverbs 25:2Source: religious control that labels questions as rebellion and doubt as sin instead of growth.
Authority figures have equated unquestioning compliance with faithfulness, making her intellectual honesty feel like spiritual betrayal. Every question feels like it's widening the gap between her and God.
Gideon put out a fleece to test God, then did it AGAIN because he still doubted. God didn't rebuke him for the double-test—He answered BOTH times with patience. Gideon's doubt didn't disqualify him; God used him to deliver Israel anyway.
I REFUSE the lie that questions disappoint God. IT IS WRITTEN that it's the GLORY of kings to search out matters, and I am royalty in Christ. My Father isn't threatened by my intellect—He GAVE it to me. IT IS WRITTEN to 'test all things and hold fast what is good.' God answered Gideon's REPEATED tests without condemnation. I am covered by the BARAK blessing that protected even doubting Abraham when he laughed at God's promise. Questions don't distance me from God—they draw me DEEPER. I am His BELOVED daughter, doubts and all.
Your Father sees you questioning and He's not disappointed—He's running toward you with answers, presence, and the space to wrestle because He's not afraid of your mind.
