"God is disappointed I'm not bold enough in sharing my faith at school."
How it sounds in your head: I see other Christian kids being vocal about God, but I stay quiet because I'm scared of being mocked. God must be so disappointed that I'm ashamed of Him. I'm letting Him down by being a coward.
"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."
-- 2 Timothy 1:7Religious pressure that equates God's approval with evangelistic performance, making acceptance conditional on outward boldness instead of inward position in Christ.
Scripture says 'whoever is ashamed of Me,' and you ARE nervous to speak up, which feels like shame. Other Christians seem fearless, making your silence feel like betrayal of both God and your identity.
Came to Jesus BY NIGHT because he was scared of being seen, hid his faith from fellow Pharisees for YEARS out of fear. Jesus never condemned his secrecy, still called him 'teacher of Israel,' and Nicodemus eventually came out of hiding to honor Jesus's body—gradual courage, full acceptance the entire time.
I REFUSE the lie that God is disappointed in my current boldness level. IT IS WRITTEN: God has not given me a spirit of fear but of POWER—and that power is a GIFT He gives, not a requirement I must meet. My Father doesn't measure His love by my evangelism scorecard. My righteousness is based on JESUS's perfect witness, not my nervous silence in algebra class. IT IS WRITTEN: There is NOW no condemnation. Nicodemus hid his faith for YEARS and Jesus still called him a teacher and friend. The BARAK blessing covered Jacob when he was SILENT about God while deceiving his father—yet the blessing remained. I am in BETTER covenant. My Father is EMPOWERING me, not condemning me. His pleasure in me is COMPLETE regardless of today's courage level.
Your Father knows middle school social dynamics are brutal and vulnerability feels dangerous. He's not disappointed in your fear—He's the patient coach developing courage IN you, not demanding it FROM you.
