"God is angry at me for the sexual sins I still struggle with at my age"
How it sounds in your head: I should have conquered this decades ago. What kind of man still battles this at 72? God must be furious that I'm still looking, still tempted, still failing. I've prayed about this for fifty years. His patience must be exhausted.
"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit."
-- Romans 8:1Source: Religious teaching that God's patience has limits and sexual sin uniquely disqualifies you from His favor
The battle hasn't ended with age like he thought it would, and shame feels heavier because 'mature Christians shouldn't struggle like this.' Each failure feels like it exhausts more of God's grace.
Caught IN THE ACT of adultery, dragged before Jesus expecting condemnation. Jesus said 'Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more'—full acquittal with zero process, zero probation, instant restoration.
I REFUSE the lie that my ongoing struggle exhausts God's patience or ignites His anger. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NOW no condemnation for me in Christ Jesus. My Father doesn't count my failures; His Son COVERS them. IT IS WRITTEN in Hebrews 4:16 that I can come BOLDLY to the throne of grace to find HELP in time of need—not after I've cleaned up, but IN my struggle. I am not defined by my battles; I am defined by His BLOOD. God isn't angry. He's ADVOCATING. I am righteous by GIFT, not by performance. The BARAK blessing protects JACOB THE DECEIVER and Abraham THE LIAR—it covers ME.
The Father runs toward you WHILE you still smell like the pig pen, not after you've showered. He meets you IN your struggle with embrace, not after you've conquered it with evaluation.
