"God is disappointed I let that relationship get physical or went too far."
How it sounds in your head: I crossed lines I said I wouldn't cross. I feel so dirty and ashamed. I know God is so disappointed in me for giving that part of myself away. I can't take it back.
"Come now, and let us reason together, says the LORD, Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool."
-- Isaiah 1:18Source: purity culture that treats virginity/sexual boundaries as THE measure of worthiness and creates permanent shame.
She's been taught her body is a 'gift' she 'gave away,' making sexual activity feel like permanent damage to her value. Every memory feels like fresh evidence of God's disappointment.
Rahab was an active prostitute when God chose her. She didn't clean up first—God put her in the Messianic line WHILE she was still in the profession. By the time Matthew writes Jesus' genealogy, she's called righteous and is in the lineage of Christ.
I REFUSE the lie that sexual sin permanently disappoints God. IT IS WRITTEN that though my sins were scarlet, they are NOW white as snow. My Father doesn't see me as damaged goods—He sees me as His BELOVED daughter, bought with blood, made righteous. IT IS WRITTEN that the blood of Jesus cleanses from ALL sin. Rahab was a prostitute and ended up in Jesus' family tree. I am covered by the BARAK blessing that protected even Judah after he slept with his daughter-in-law. I am CLEAN, not because of what I did or didn't do, but because of what JESUS did. I am His BELOVED.
Your Father sees you coming from that relationship, shame and all, and He's RUNNING toward you with the robe of righteousness before you can even apologize. He's already thrown the party because His blood speaks BETTER than your past.
