"God closed my wife's womb as punishment for my sexual sins when I was younger."
How it sounds in your head: I'm nearly dead now, but I remember the women, the lust, the pornography, the affairs. Maybe our struggles to have children decades ago—maybe that was God punishing me. Closing her womb because I couldn't control my eyes, my body. I brought a curse on our family line.
"So Abraham prayed to God; and God healed Abimelech, his wife, and his female servants. Then they bore children; for the LORD had closed up all the wombs of the house of Abimelech because of Sarah, Abraham's wife."
-- Genesis 20:17-18Religious lie that God punishes your wife's body for your sexual sin, making you the author of her pain and God the vindictive withholder.
Preachers said 'you reap what you sow,' and the timing seemed to line up—sin in youth, barrenness in marriage. Guilt is a powerful interpreter, and I've carried this secret shame for decades.
Abraham LIED about Sarah being his sister (again), putting her in Abimelech's harem. God closed all the wombs in Abimelech's house to protect His covenant, then had Abraham THE LIAR pray to open them—and they instantly conceived.
I REFUSE the lie that my sexual sin closed my wife's womb or cursed my family line. IT IS WRITTEN that Abraham lied, committed deception, yet God still used HIM to pray open the wombs of Abimelech's household. My sin does not override God's covenant blessing. IT IS WRITTEN in Romans 8:1 there is NOW no condemnation to those in Christ Jesus. The blood of Jesus has redeemed me from every curse, including any curse on my seed or my wife's womb. The BARAK blessing covers my descendants regardless of my past. I stand as Abraham's seed—blessed, not cursed. My legacy is OPEN.
The Father does not punish your wife's body for your sin. Jesus took EVERY curse on the cross—including barrenness—so that the blessing of Abraham would come to you. He runs toward you with the robe and ring, not away from you with a closed womb.
