"God took my health, my independence, my dignity—He's cruel to make me live like this."
How it sounds in your head: I can't walk, can't feed myself, can't use the bathroom alone. This isn't living—it's existing. If God loved me, He would've taken me years ago instead of making me suffer in this body. He's torturing me by keeping me alive.
"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."
-- John 10:10Enemy accusation against God's character, making Him the author of suffering instead of the thief who comes to steal, kill, and destroy.
The suffering IS real, the loss IS devastating, and religious teaching that 'God is sovereign' gets twisted into 'God causes everything,' making Him the villain.
Satan—NOT GOD—struck Job with boils and destruction, and Job's religious friends blamed God. But God REBUKED the friends and RESTORED Job double—proving He is the RESTORER, not the destroyer. God was Job's defender, not his attacker.
I REFUSE the lie that God is torturing me. IT IS WRITTEN that the THIEF comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but JESUS came to give me ABUNDANT life. Every good and perfect gift is from the Father—sickness is NOT His gift. IT IS WRITTEN that by His stripes I WAS healed—past tense, finished work. My circumstances do NOT define God's character. He is GOOD, He is KIND, and He is WITH me in this valley. I walk in the BARAK blessing—the covenant that protected Israel even when they deserved judgment. I am Abraham's seed, covered by the blood of Jesus, and that blood declares LIFE, not death. God is not my tormentor—He is my HEALER, my COMFORTER, my RESCUER. I trust His heart even when I don't understand my circumstances.
The Father is NOT standing over you with a whip saying 'suffer more.' He's weeping WITH you like He wept at Lazarus' tomb, ANGRY at death and decay, ready to RESTORE and RESURRECT. He didn't cause this—He's the ONE fighting it with you.
