"God allowed this to teach me something or build my character—I just have to figure out the lesson."
How it sounds in your head: Everyone says 'God's got a purpose in this.' So you're searching for the lesson, trying to figure out what He's teaching you so you can graduate from this and move on. Maybe once you learn it, He'll heal you.
"How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him."
-- Acts 10:38Religious doctrine making God the AUTHOR of sickness instead of the HEALER, turning disease into a divine curriculum instead of an enemy.
It gives meaning to suffering and makes it feel controllable—like there's a formula: learn lesson = get healing. Plus, Romans 8:28 gets quoted constantly to explain bad things.
She was bent over, unable to straighten up for 18 YEARS. Jesus called it exactly what it was—'Satan has BOUND her'—and IMMEDIATELY healed her on the Sabbath. Religious people said He shouldn't heal on Sabbath; Jesus said she's Abraham's daughter and Satan had NO RIGHT to keep her bound.
I REFUSE the lie that God authored this sickness to teach me. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus healed ALL who were oppressed by the DEVIL—sickness is from the enemy, not from my Father. God is not waiting for me to learn a lesson before He releases healing—He's waiting for me to ENFORCE what Jesus already finished. The blessing of Abraham makes me free from bondage. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil, and sickness is the devil's work. I don't need to decode God's 'purpose' in this—I need to KICK IT OUT with His authority.
The Father didn't give you sickness any more than He gave you sin. He gave you JESUS who destroyed both. He's not the teacher using disease as curriculum; He's the Father running toward you with the healing you need RIGHT NOW.
