"God allowed this sickness to teach me something I couldn't learn another way"
How it sounds in your head: There must be a lesson in this suffering. God is using cancer to make me more like Jesus. If I get healed before I learn the lesson, I'll have wasted this trial. Maybe I'm not spiritual enough yet to be healed.
"God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him."
-- Acts 10:38Religion making God the author of disease to explain why healing hasn't manifested yet
Every Christian book about suffering says God uses trials to refine us. Her pastor quoted 'all things work together for good' at her hospital bed. It feels more spiritual to find meaning than to demand healing.
Disciples asked, 'Who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?' - searching for the lesson or cause. Jesus said, 'NEITHER' - not about sin or lessons, but 'that the works of God should be revealed in him.' He immediately healed him. No waiting, no lesson first, just instant sight.
I REFUSE the lie that God authored this sickness as a teaching tool. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus healed ALL who were oppressed by the DEVIL, identifying sickness as demonic oppression, not divine education. My Father doesn't give cancer to teach patience any more than I would break my child's leg to teach them to trust me. IT IS WRITTEN that every good and perfect gift comes from the Father of lights, in whom is NO variation or shadow of turning - sickness is neither good, perfect, nor from Him. The BARAK blessing is mine by covenant, not by character development. I am righteous by GIFT, and healing flows from that finished identity. I am a branch in the Vine, and disease has NO PLACE in the life flowing through me.
The Father isn't waiting for you to graduate from suffering school before He runs toward you with healing. He's already running - with the robe that declares you RIGHTEOUS (not sick), the ring of authority to cast out disease, and the party that celebrates your wholeness BEFORE you feel better. He's been preparing your healing feast while you were in the MRI machine.
