"God allowed this prostate cancer to show me I'm not as strong as I thought."
How it sounds in your head: I've always been the strong one, the provider, the rock. Maybe God needed to humble me, show me my mortality. This diagnosis stripped away my illusion of control—perhaps that was the point.
"Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed."
-- 1 Peter 2:24Religion framed disease as divine ego-management, making God the author of cancer to address pride.
You WERE proud of your strength and independence. The cancer diagnosis DID shatter that identity. The correlation feels like divine correction.
Naaman was a proud military commander with incurable leprosy. He resisted Elisha's simple instruction, wanting something more dramatic. When he finally obeyed, he dipped seven times and his flesh was RESTORED like a child's—complete, instant healing from terminal disease.
I REFUSE the lie that God authored this cancer to manage my pride. IT IS WRITTEN: By His stripes I WAS healed—Jesus already carried this disease. My Father uses GOODNESS to change me, not cancer. IT IS WRITTEN: There is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. I am Abraham's seed by covenant—the BARAK protects me from plague and pestilence regardless of my pride level. Cancer has NO LEGAL RIGHT in covenant territory. I receive complete healing as my inheritance, not my achievement.
Your Father isn't using cancer as a teaching tool—He already sent Jesus to carry it in His own body. He's running toward you with healing power, eager to restore what was stolen, celebrating your wholeness.
