"God allowed this sickness, so He must want me to endure it."
How it sounds in your head: Nothing happens outside God's control, right? So if He allowed it, He must have a reason. Fighting it feels like fighting His plan. Sounds theologically sound.
"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."
-- John 10:10Source: Religion confusing God's PERMISSION of free will and spiritual warfare with His PRESCRIPTION, making Him responsible for every enemy attack.
It solves the sovereignty tension and gives you a framework for why bad things happen to people who pray. Removes the mystery and makes suffering purposeful.
Satan attacked Job with sickness and loss—God ALLOWED it in the trial, but the ENDING was God gave him TWICE as much as before and healed him completely. Even in the extreme permission scenario, God's WILL was full restoration.
I REFUSE the lie that permission equals prescription. IT IS WRITTEN the thief comes to kill and destroy, but Jesus came to give ABUNDANT LIFE—John 10:10. Sickness is from the THIEF, not my Father. God allowing spiritual warfare in a fallen world doesn't make Him the author of my attack. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus healed ALL who were oppressed by the devil—Acts 10:38—oppression has a SOURCE and Heaven isn't it. Even Job, in the WORST-case permission scenario, was FULLY RESTORED and given TWICE as much. I am Abraham's seed, blessed by COVENANT. The BARAK protected Abraham when he LIED TWICE and left him WEALTHIER—I'm in a BETTER covenant. God's will is RESTORATION, not endurance of enemy attacks. Sickness, you are EVICTED.
Your Father allowed you free will in a world with an enemy, but that doesn't mean He WANTS you sick—He wants you HEALED, which is why Jesus destroyed every sickness He touched. Permission isn't the same as desire.
