"God is taking me home because I'm no longer useful to His kingdom."
How it sounds in your head: I can't serve anymore. Can't go to church, can't teach, can't work. What good is a man who can't do anything? God must be ready to replace me with someone functional.
"I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing."
-- John 15:5Works-based identity that measures worth by ministry activity rather than covenant position as beloved son.
Every area of previous usefulness has been stripped away. Ministry, work, strength, independence—all gone. Religious culture equates productivity with value, so uselessness feels like divine dismissal.
Simeon was ancient, waiting in the temple doing nothing but WAITING. The Holy Spirit revealed he wouldn't die until he saw the Messiah. At 90+, his ONLY purpose was to hold baby Jesus for two minutes and prophesy. That was enough.
I REFUSE the lie that usefulness determines my right to live. IT IS WRITTEN I am the branch and Christ is the vine—my job is ABIDING, not producing. My worth is not in ministry but in being BELOVED of the Father. IT IS WRITTEN I am His workmanship created for good works He PREPARED beforehand. Those works are not finished. The BARAK blessing includes length of days and divine purpose. I am alive because God says so, useful because I am CONNECTED to Him.
Your Father doesn't retire you or euthanize you when productivity drops. He treasures the beating of your heart, not the output of your hands. You are loved, period.
