"If I had enough faith, I'd be healed—so this sickness proves my faith is weak."
How it sounds in your head: I've prayed and nothing happened. Maybe I don't believe hard enough. Other people get miracles and I don't—what's wrong with my faith? Maybe God can't heal me because I'm not spiritual enough.
"When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: 'He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.'"
-- Matthew 8:16-17Source: Religious teaching that makes healing depend on the QUALITY of your faith instead of the FINISHED WORK of Jesus.
Jesus did say 'according to your faith be it done,' and when healing doesn't come, the easiest explanation is that your faith failed the test. It shifts responsibility from God to you, which feels safer than questioning God.
Came to ARREST Jesus, Peter cut off his EAR, and Jesus HEALED him instantly—healed an ENEMY who had ZERO faith in Him and was actively opposing Him. Faith wasn't the requirement; Jesus' nature to heal was the requirement.
I REFUSE the lie that my healing depends on the SIZE of my faith. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus healed ALL who were sick because HE BORE our sicknesses—healing is based on what HE DID, not on how hard I believe. My faith doesn't create healing; it receives what's already FINISHED at the cross. IT IS WRITTEN that by His stripes I WAS healed—past tense, done, purchased. Jesus even healed MALCHUS who came to arrest Him—healed an enemy with zero faith—because healing flows from JESUS' NATURE, not from my perfection. I am Abraham's seed, blessed with the BARAK that isn't based on my faith quality but on COVENANT. Even when Abraham doubted and lied, the blessing flowed. I receive healing NOW not because I'm faith-perfect but because Jesus is FINISHED-perfect.
Your Father isn't waiting for your faith to reach a certain score before He releases healing—He already released it at the cross. You're not trying to convince Him to heal you; you're receiving what He already did.
