"Everyone else has a normal relationship with food; I'm the only one this broken."
How it sounds in your head: You watch friends eat without the mental chaos, without the guilt spirals, without the binge-restrict cycles. They seem effortless with food while you're exhausting yourself with every bite. You must be uniquely damaged, the only one who can't figure out what should be so simple.
"No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it."
-- 1 Corinthians 10:13Enemy isolating through shame, convincing woman her struggle is unique and therefore unfixable.
Social media shows everyone else's highlight reel of 'balanced' eating while she lives in the hidden chaos of her own mind. Nobody else seems to struggle this intensely, which feels like proof she's broken beyond what's normal or redeemable.
This woman suffered TWELVE YEARS with an issue that made her perpetually unclean, spent ALL her money on physicians who made her WORSE, and lived in isolation and shame. She thought she was uniquely cursed - but one touch of Jesus' garment brought IMMEDIATE healing, and He called her 'daughter,' publicly restoring what shame had stolen.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm uniquely broken in my relationship with food. IT IS WRITTEN that no temptation has overtaken me except what is COMMON - my struggle is SHARED, not singular. The enemy wants me isolated in shame, but God is FAITHFUL to provide the way of escape. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus came to heal the BROKENHEARTED and set captives FREE - and that includes freedom from food chaos, body shame, and eating disorder bondage. I am not too damaged for redemption. The same Jesus who touched the untouchable woman and called her 'daughter' touches my brokenness and calls me WHOLE. I reject isolation and receive the COMMON grace available to ALL who call on His name.
Father sees your hidden chaos with food and He isn't shocked or disgusted - He's running toward you like He ran toward the woman who'd been bleeding for twelve years, ready to speak IMMEDIATE healing over what's tormented you for so long. You're not uniquely broken; you're commonly human and specifically loved.
