"Every miscarriage is evidence that God doesn't trust me to be a father."
How it sounds in your head: We got pregnant and lost it. Maybe God saw I wasn't ready. Maybe He knows I'd mess up a kid like my dad messed me up. Every friend who becomes a dad feels like God picking them and passing over me. I must be unqualified.
"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."
-- John 10:10Source: Religious teaching that suffering is always corrective discipline + generational trauma.
When loss happens repeatedly, the brain searches for reasons, and religion offers 'God's sovereignty' as explanation. Combined with father wounds, it's easy to believe you're disqualified from fatherhood.
Job lost all ten children in a single day through enemy attack, not divine judgment. At the end, God didn't lecture him about readiness—He DOUBLED everything Job lost and gave him ten more children, proving that loss came from the enemy and restoration came from God's nature.
I REFUSE the lie that miscarriage is God's vote of no-confidence in my fatherhood. IT IS WRITTEN that the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came to give ABUNDANT LIFE. Loss is from the enemy, not my Father. IT IS WRITTEN that children are a heritage from the Lord, a reward, not something withheld from the unworthy. I am qualified by Christ's blood, not my readiness. Under the Abrahamic blessing, I am blessed in my coming in and going out, and my household is blessed. The same God who restored Job's children and gave Abraham a son at 100 is my Father, and He is good.
The Father is weeping with you over the loss, not causing it to teach you a lesson. He's the God who collects your tears in a bottle and is running toward you with the promise that weeping endures for a night, but JOY comes in the morning—and children are coming joy.
