"God is punishing me with infertility because of past sexual sin."
How it sounds in your head: I remember every mistake, every partner, every choice I made before I knew better. Now it feels like God is settling the score, making me pay by withholding the very thing I long for most. My past has disqualified my future.
"I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; and I will not remember your sins."
-- Isaiah 43:25Religious teaching that God holds grudges and requires payment for forgiven sin, turning the cross into insufficient payment.
The timing of infertility after a past you regret creates a false cause-and-effect narrative that feels like divine justice. Shame magnifies every past mistake into evidence of permanent disqualification.
Rahab was an ACTIVE prostitute when God chose her, not a reformed one trying to earn back respectability. She was immediately placed in the Messianic line, becoming the great-great-grandmother of King David and direct ancestor of Jesus—her past obliterated by God's choice to honor her.
I REFUSE the lie that God is punishing me for my past. IT IS WRITTEN that God blots out my transgressions and will not remember my sins—He threw them into the sea of forgetfulness. The blood of Jesus paid for EVERY sin—past, present, and future—and there is NO condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. I stand under the BARAK blessing where even Abraham the liar, Jacob the deceiver, and Rahab the prostitute were blessed and fruitful. IT IS WRITTEN that if the Son sets you free, you are free INDEED. My past is under the blood, my future is OPEN, and God's plan for me includes the overflow of His goodness, not the withholding of His gifts.
The Father is not reviewing your file or tallying your mistakes—He's running toward you with the robe of righteousness already in His hands, seeing you as spotless as the day you were born. Your sexual past was nailed to the cross 2,000 years ago; He's not making you pay for what Jesus already purchased.
