"Doctors are man's wisdom; I should rely only on God's healing power."
How it sounds in your head: Every time I make a doctor's appointment, I feel like I'm choosing man over God. Real faith would mean canceling these appointments and just believing God. Am I double-minded?
"Jesus answered and said to them, 'Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.'"
-- Luke 5:31False dichotomy teaching that pits medical care against spiritual trust, forcing unnecessary choices.
Some of the most passionate believers I know refuse doctors entirely and claim greater faith. Maybe my willingness to see physicians reveals lukewarm trust in God's supernatural power.
Luke was a physician who traveled with Paul on missionary journeys, treating people medically while they preached the Gospel. He wrote two books of Scripture while actively practicing medicine—God never required him to choose between healing arts and spiritual ministry.
I REFUSE the lie that doctors represent doubt in God. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus acknowledged physicians as helpers for the sick, and Luke the physician wrote Scripture while practicing medicine. I receive wisdom from every source my Father provides—medical, supernatural, and natural. IT IS WRITTEN in James 1:17 that every good and perfect gift comes from above, and medical knowledge is a gift. The barak blessing on Abraham's seed includes access to skilled helpers. I walk in divine health and divine wisdom simultaneously, stewarding my body with every tool Heaven and earth provide.
Your Father is running toward you delighted that you're using the skilled helpers He positioned in your life, celebrating your wisdom in receiving from every good gift He sends. He doesn't pit His provision methods against each other—He lavishly supplies through multiple streams because He loves you extravagantly.
