"Doctors are worldly and spiritually dangerous to trust."
How it sounds in your head: Someone at church said doctors are part of 'the system' and don't believe in God. You feel guilty for going to your pediatrician or therapist. Maybe you should only go to Christian doctors. Maybe medical school trains people to reject faith.
"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning."
-- James 1:17Religious fear of secular knowledge, making medicine an enemy of faith rather than a gift from God.
Some doctors don't share your beliefs, and church sometimes talks about 'worldly wisdom' versus God's wisdom. Going to a doctor who doesn't mention Jesus feels like betraying your faith.
Luke was a physician who traveled with Paul, wrote two books of Scripture, and was called 'beloved.' His medical training didn't make him worldly - it made him useful in God's hands for both physical and spiritual healing, instant acceptance in ministry.
I REFUSE the lie that doctors oppose God's work. IT IS WRITTEN that every good gift comes from the Father of lights - medical knowledge included. Luke was a beloved physician who wrote Scripture while practicing medicine. I am blessed with access to healing through doctors, medicine, and miracles because I am Abraham's seed and heir according to promise. IT IS WRITTEN that God gives good gifts generously. I receive medical care as worship, thanking my Father for the minds He created to help me.
Your Father is running toward you saying 'I SENT that doctor to you - I gave them their knowledge as a gift for My children.' He's not threatened by medical degrees; He inspired them.
