"Church people are fake. They smile on Sunday then ignore you at school."
How it sounds in your head: I see them at youth group acting all holy, then they're mean on Monday. The pastor's kids are the worst bullies. Why would I trust any of them? It's all just a show.
"It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man."
-- Psalm 118:8Source: religious hypocrisy and legitimate wounds from people who claimed Christ's name but didn't reflect His heart.
He's experienced real betrayal from people who wear Christian t-shirts but spread rumors about him. The gap between what they say they believe and how they actually treat people is undeniable and painful.
David was betrayed by King Saul and the religious establishment, hunted like an animal while doing nothing wrong. Instead of becoming bitter, he gathered the broken and rejected in a cave, and God made him the greatest king Israel ever had—all while the religious hypocrites lost everything.
I REFUSE the lie that fake Christians define my faith. IT IS WRITTEN that it's better to trust in the Lord than in man. My relationship with Jesus isn't dependent on imperfect people acting right. I am Abraham's seed, heir to the BARAK blessing that protected liars and deceivers—how much more does it cover me when others fail me! IT IS WRITTEN that if God is for me, who can be against me? I choose Jesus over judging His imperfect followers. I am loved by a perfect Father who never fakes it.
While you're still hurt and angry at church people, the Father is running toward you saying, 'Their failure isn't My failure—I've never been fake with you.' He's throwing a party for the real you, not the religious performance, and He's inviting you to experience authentic love that never disappoints.
