"The church is just a business now—it's all about numbers and money."
How it sounds in your head: You remember when it was simple—potlucks, prayer meetings, genuine fellowship. Now it's lights, cameras, giving campaigns with thermometers on the wall. The pastor talks more about vision than Scripture. It feels like a corporation, not a family.
"And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it."
-- Matthew 16:18Source: Legitimate observation of religious systems twisted by enemy to paint ALL gatherings as corrupt, preventing authentic connection.
You've SEEN the budgets, the staff salaries, the building campaigns while missionaries go unsupported. The pastor drives a car you can't afford. The production value is impressive but the presence feels absent.
When the religious system was failing, God bypassed it entirely and started a whole new thing with a Roman centurion who'd never been to temple. God isn't limited by corrupt structures—He's raising up fresh expressions of His body right now, and you're positioned to be part of it.
I REFUSE the lie that Jesus' church has failed because some organizations became businesses. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus builds His church and hell cannot prevail against it. Corrupt systems expose themselves—they don't define the true Body. IT IS WRITTEN that where two or three gather in His name, He is THERE—presence isn't dependent on production value. I am Abraham's seed, and the BARAK blessing means I'm positioned for authentic community that reflects heaven, not Hollywood. I declare God is raising up gatherings that look like Acts 2—devoted to teaching, fellowship, breaking bread, and prayer. His ecclesia is advancing, and I'm part of it.
The Father is whispering, 'I'm as grieved by empty performance as you are—but look, I'm doing a NEW thing. I'm gathering My people in living rooms, coffee shops, around tables—simple, real, drenched in My presence.' He's inviting you into something authentic that your soul has been craving.
