"Church is boring and irrelevant; it has nothing to do with real life."
How it sounds in your head: Hymns from 200 years ago, sermons that don't address what I'm actually facing, people who live in a Christian bubble and don't understand my world. It's disconnected from my struggles, my questions, my reality. What does this have to do with my life?
"And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams."
-- Acts 2:17Source: Exposure to dead religion that substituted tradition for transformation, form for fire, making church about preservation instead of power.
He sits through services that feel like time-warps, hears answers to questions he's not asking, and watches adults go through motions with no visible life change. Meanwhile, his real battles—identity, purpose, temptation, doubt—go unaddressed, making church feel like an outdated ritual.
David was a TEENAGER tending sheep when Samuel came to anoint the next king—his own father didn't even invite him to the ceremony because he seemed irrelevant. The moment the oil hit him, the Spirit of the Lord came upon him INSTANTLY, and he went from overlooked shepherd boy to giant-killer within weeks.
I REFUSE the lie that God is boring or irrelevant. IT IS WRITTEN that God will pour out His Spirit on YOUNG MEN, that I will see visions and prophesy. Dead religion is boring—but the Holy Spirit is FIRE. David was a forgotten teenager tending sheep, and in ONE MOMENT the Spirit came on him and he became a giant-killer. IT IS WRITTEN in Hebrews 13:8 that 'Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever'—the same power that raised the dead, healed the sick, and turned the world upside down is AVAILABLE NOW. I will not settle for religious form without power. I am the BARAK blessed, anointed for THIS generation, called to see the supernatural invade my everyday reality. The real Church is a revolutionary movement, not a museum.
The Father is saying, 'You're right—that version of church IS dead. But I'm not dead. I'm about to ruin your boring with My fire. I have dreams to download, adventures to launch, power to release through YOU. Don't confuse lifeless religion with My limitless Spirit.' He's already planning encounters that will wreck your categories and blow your mind.
