"Church people smiled to my face then let me struggle alone when crisis hit."
How it sounds in your head: When your husband died, where were they? When you couldn't afford rent, who called? They had opinions about your faith but no help for your pain. Sunday smiles, Monday silence.
"When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take care of me."
-- Psalm 27:10Enemy uses fair-weather friends to create belief that all Christian community is shallow performance, preventing vulnerable believers from seeking genuine help.
The abandonment was tangible: no meals after the funeral past the first week, no calls when she couldn't afford medication, no visits when she moved to cheaper housing. She watched others get rallied around while she fell through cracks.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm alone because church failed to show up. IT IS WRITTEN that when father and mother forsake me, the LORD takes care of me. People's absence doesn't mean God's abandonment. He is MY provider, MY comforter, MY friend. IT IS WRITTEN that the BARAK blessing is on me—the Lord commands blessing on my storehouses, provides for me supernaturally. I don't need church approval to access God's provision. He is ENOUGH. He is sending genuine people who will love me through crisis, not just on Sundays.
The Father saw every night you cried alone, every bill you faced in silence, every moment you needed help and got platitudes. He's running toward you with HIMSELF—not more shallow friends, but deep friendship with Him. And He's bringing people who've been through fire too, who know how to show up.
