"Christians talk about love but practice exclusion and judgment."
How it sounds in your head: They say 'all are welcome' until you mention your politics, your doubts, your past, your struggles. Then it's whispers, distance, passive-aggressive prayer requests. They'll love you if you fit the culture, agree with the tribe, vote the right way. Step outside the lines and you're out. That's not love—that's conformity.
"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."
-- John 13:34-35Source: Religious tribalism wounded you, then enemy says Jesus' love is as conditional as theirs was.
You experienced actual social exclusion when your views or story didn't match the majority. Their version of love had asterisks and footnotes.
Five failed marriages, currently shacking up with a man not her husband, wrong ethnicity, wrong gender for a rabbi to speak to publicly. Jesus broke every social rule to offer her living water. Didn't mention her sin until she was already engaged in conversation. She became the first evangelist to her city. No cleanup required for the conversation to start.
I REFUSE the lie that conditional religious love represents Jesus' heart. IT IS WRITTEN to love AS Jesus loved—and He loved me while I was STILL a sinner. Religious culture added conditions; Jesus removes them. IT IS WRITTEN in 1 John 4:18 that perfect love casts out fear—there is no fear in His love. I am the Samaritan woman—wrong in every category—yet Jesus broke the rules to offer me living water. I am Abraham's seed, blessed by COVENANT, not conformity. The BARAK blessing doesn't require tribal agreement. I'm coming back to Jesus, not to the Pharisees who misrepresented Him. His love has no asterisks.
The Father sees their exclusive culture and says 'That's not Me.' He's the one who touched the untouchable, ate with the excluded, and loved without conditions. He's inviting you back to HIS love, not their version of it.
