"At my age, I should just be grateful I'm still alive—expecting healing is greedy."
How it sounds in your head: I've lived a long life. So many friends are already gone. Maybe asking for healing at 90+ is selfish—I should be content with survival and not expect comfort too.
"So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you."
-- Joel 2:25Religious minimization making gratitude and expectation mutually exclusive, enemy using false humility to block covenant rights.
Comparing to those who've died creates false ceiling on expectation. Cultural messaging that elderly should 'not be a burden' translates into spiritual minimization of legitimate needs.
At 85 years old, Caleb didn't ask for a rocking chair—he demanded the MOUNTAIN, the hardest territory with giants. He declared 'I am as strong today as I was at 40.' God honored his expectation with complete victory and inheritance.
I REFUSE the lie that expecting healing at my age is greedy. IT IS WRITTEN that God restores the YEARS the locust has eaten—He doesn't just offer survival, He offers RESTORATION. I am under the BARAK blessing where I am blessed in ALL things, not just 'grateful to be alive.' IT IS WRITTEN in Psalm 92:14 that I shall still bear fruit in old age, be FRESH and FLOURISHING. Like Caleb at 85 demanding mountains, I expect God's BEST, not just existence. Health is my covenant right, regardless of age.
The Father doesn't see your expectation of healing as 'greedy'—He sees it as FAITH that honors the price Jesus paid. He's not offering you 'just survival'; He's offering you FRESH and FLOURISHING life, restoration of locust-eaten years, abundant life until your last breath.
