"I've been praying for years with no change—God must be saying no to healing me."
How it sounds in your head: Silence feels like rejection. I've been faithful, prayed Scripture, had others pray—nothing. Maybe it's not His will for me. Maybe I need to stop asking and just accept this is my lot.
"Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him."
-- 1 John 5:14-15Misunderstanding of God's nature (religion/trauma) interpreting delay as denial and silence as rejection.
Years of unanswered prayer create exhaustion and the appearance that God has made a sovereign decision to say no. Religious teaching about 'accepting God's will' reinforces resignation.
She cried out for her tormented daughter and Jesus didn't answer her AT ALL—complete silence. She persisted through apparent rejection, and Jesus said 'O woman, GREAT is your faith! Let it be done as you desire.' Her daughter was healed THAT VERY HOUR despite the initial silence.
I REFUSE the lie that silence means no. IT IS WRITTEN that if I ask according to His will, I HAVE what I asked—and healing IS His will because Jesus healed them ALL. The Canaanite woman pressed through Jesus' silence and got her miracle the same hour. Abraham waited 25 years but God's answer was yes from the beginning. IT IS WRITTEN that by His stripes I WAS healed—the answer was yes 2,000 years ago on the cross. I am not waiting for God to DECIDE; I'm standing on what He already FINISHED. I declare I HAVE my healing by faith—it's mine because Jesus paid for it, not because I prayed long enough.
Your Father heard your first prayer and His answer was yes before you even asked—He proved it by sending Jesus to the cross for your healing. He's not withholding because you haven't prayed hard enough or long enough. He's inviting you to REST in what's already done.
