"At my age, expecting pain-free living is unrealistic and immature faith."

How it sounds in your head: Young believers talk about healing, but they haven't lived eight decades in a broken world. I've been a faithful Christian for 60+ years—I know better than to expect miracles at 85. Mature faith accepts reality. Pain-free? That's heaven, not earth.

Malachi 4:2

"But to you who fear My name the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings; and you shall go out and grow fat like stall-fed calves."

-- Malachi 4:2
Enemy whispers: Expecting healing at your age is immature—accept your pain. BUT IT IS WRITTEN: Malachi 4:2 - 'The Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings; and you shall go out and grow fat like stall-fed calves.' God promises those who fear His name will experience healing and THRIVE like well-fed calves—leaping, energetic, pain-free. Caleb took mountains at 85. Moses' eyes weren't dim at 120. IT IS WRITTEN in Psalm 92:14 that the righteous 'shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing.' Age is no barrier to divine health.
Quick Truth: LIE: Expecting healing at my age is immature. TRUTH: Caleb took mountains at 85—age doesn't limit God. Joshua 14:10-11

Religion teaches that suffering proves spiritual maturity and that expecting freedom from pain shows theological ignorance, making the victim feel foolish for wanting wholeness.

Why this feels true:

A lifetime of watching godly people suffer and die in pain has convinced him that physical wholeness isn't for earth. Pastors have preached 'accepting God's will' when healing doesn't come, and theological education often emphasizes cessationism or the 'already/not yet' tension that makes present healing seem presumptuous.

Joshua 14:10-11
Caleb

At 85 years old, after 45 years of wilderness and war, Caleb declared he was as strong as the day Moses sent him out—strength for war, strength to go out and come in, unchanged by decades. He then proceeded to take a mountain from giants, demonstrating that God's promise of strength has no expiration date based on age.

Speak this out loud

I REFUSE the lie that age disqualifies me from divine health and pain-free living. IT IS WRITTEN that the Sun of Righteousness arises with healing in His wings for those who fear His name, and I am counted righteous by the blood of Jesus. Caleb took mountains at 85; Moses saw clearly at 120; Anna served in the temple day and night at 84. The BARAK blessing doesn't expire at 80—Abraham received it at 75 and lived in health and wealth for another century. IT IS WRITTEN that the righteous still bear fruit in old age, remaining fresh and flourishing. My Father isn't waiting for me to die to give me rest from pain—He sent Jesus so I could experience resurrection life NOW.

But God actually:

The Father doesn't look at your birth certificate and decide healing is 'unrealistic'—He looks at Calvary where Jesus purchased wholeness for every generation. Like the father ran to the prodigal regardless of how many years he'd been gone, your Father runs toward you with healing regardless of how many decades you've lived.
