"You're dying alone—you've become a burden no one wants."
How it sounds in your head: You need help with everything now. Your family has their own lives. The nursing home staff are paid to be here. You're not wanted, you're tolerated. You're a burden dying alone.
"Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you.'"
-- Hebrews 13:5Enemy lie that dependence equals worthlessness and that physical need makes you unlovable.
You see the inconvenience you cause, the strain on others, the exhaustion in their eyes. You've gone from strong to helpless and it feels like you're just waiting to die.
Job lost everything—wealth, children, health—and sat in ashes scraping sores while friends accused him. God never left him, and restored DOUBLE everything in one day when He spoke.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm dying alone or that I'm a burden. IT IS WRITTEN that God will NEVER leave me nor forsake me—that's not conditional on my strength or independence. Jesus calls me FRIEND, not because of what I can do but because of who HE is. IT IS WRITTEN that even to my old age He is with me, and to gray hairs He will carry me. Job lost everything and God never left him—then restored double in a day. I am NOT alone. I am accompanied by the Creator of the universe who calls me His beloved son.
The Father isn't counting your needs as burdens—He's carrying you. He never left Job in the ashes and He's not leaving you in this bed; He's closer now than ever, whispering, 'You are Mine.'
