"Your strength is gone and you're becoming increasingly useless."
How it sounds in your head: You can't do what you used to do. The young guys handle the heavy lifting now. You're the one who needs help instead of giving it. Your body is betraying everything you built your identity on. Weakness is your new normal.
"And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
-- 2 Corinthians 12:9Culture equating physical strength with value, denying that God's power perfects in weakness.
Can't lift what you used to, stamina vanished, stairs are harder, jars won't open. Watching younger men do what you once did effortlessly.
Caleb was 85 years old and said, 'I am as strong this day as on the day Moses sent me... Now therefore, give me this MOUNTAIN.' He didn't ask for the easy retirement land - he wanted the GIANTS. At 85, he took the hardest territory and drove out the enemy.
I REFUSE the lie that physical decline equals spiritual uselessness. IT IS WRITTEN that God's strength is made PERFECT in my weakness - my limitations are the canvas for His power. What I cannot do in my own strength, Christ IN me does with ease. IT IS WRITTEN in Galatians 2:20 that I am crucified with Christ and HE lives in me - the same power that raised Him from the dead operates through this body. I am strong in the Lord and in the POWER of His might. My age is irrelevant to anointing. Like Caleb at 85, I'm taking MOUNTAINS in my seventies.
The Father is running toward you with the ROBE of His strength - not to replace what you lost, but to reveal what you never had access to in your own power. Your weakness is His invitation to show off.
