Too Old
"You're too young to be spiritually mature. Real depth comes only with decades of walking with God."

How it sounds in your head: You hunger for God deeply but church culture treats you like you're in 'baby Christian' mode for years. The deep Bible studies are for adults, the intercessory prayer teams don't include you, and everyone assumes your faith is shallow because it's new. You feel profound encounters with God but doubt them because 'that's for mature believers.'

1 Corinthians 1:30

"But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption."

-- 1 Corinthians 1:30
Enemy whispers: 'Spiritual maturity takes decades—you're too young in your faith to have real depth.' BUT IT IS WRITTEN: 1 Corinthians 1:30 - 'Of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification.' You ARE in Christ. Not 'becoming' in Christ. Not 'working toward' Christ. IN. Which means His wisdom, His righteousness, His sanctification are YOURS NOW. IT IS WRITTEN that you are complete IN HIM. Completeness doesn't have a waiting period.
Quick Truth: LIE: Too young spiritually for real depth. TRUTH: Thief on cross went from faith to Paradise in hours—you're complete NOW. (Lk 23:43)

Source: Religion's discipleship ladder that treats spiritual maturity like college degrees requiring 4-year programs instead of the instant transformation of new birth.

Why this feels true:

Every spiritual maturity assessment talks about 'years of testing' and 'seasons of refinement,' and the 'deep' Christians are always decades into their faith. You've been saved maybe a few years—how could you possibly be mature yet?

Luke 23:43
Thief on the cross

The thief on the cross had zero discipleship training, zero years of walking with God, zero Bible studies or prayer meetings. He had one moment of revelation about who Jesus was, and Jesus said 'TODAY you will be with Me in Paradise.' Instant maturity, instant access, instant salvation—no process required.

Speak this out loud

I REFUSE the lie that spiritual maturity requires decades of time I haven't lived yet. IT IS WRITTEN that I am IN Christ, which means His wisdom, righteousness, and sanctification are MINE NOW—not eventually. I don't have a junior version of the Holy Spirit waiting to upgrade after 10 years of service—I have the FULL Holy Spirit living in me TODAY. IT IS WRITTEN that the thief on the cross went from first moment of faith to Paradise in HOURS—no discipleship program, no maturity process. If he could be ready for Paradise in a moment, I am who God says I am RIGHT NOW. I am complete in Christ, I am seated with Him in heavenly places, I have access to the fullness of God TODAY. Maturity isn't about time logged—it's about KNOWING who I am in Him. I am as righteous today as I'll be in 50 years because righteousness is a GIFT, not a gradual achievement. I walk in full spiritual authority NOW because authority is POSITIONAL, not developmental.

But God actually:

The Father doesn't look at you like a spiritual toddler who needs decades to 'grow up' into His presence—He sees you IN CHRIST, which means He sees you COMPLETE. He's the God who gave the thief Paradise immediately, who counted Abraham righteous by FAITH not process, who declares you sanctified the moment you believe because your maturity is not YOUR work—it's HIS finished work IN you.
