"You need to figure out which sin is causing your depression and repent before God will heal you."
How it sounds in your head: There must be unconfessed sin somewhere creating a barrier between you and God. Maybe it's that grudge from years ago, or the lust you struggled with last month. Search your heart, find the sin, confess it right, and then maybe God will lift this darkness.
"And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross."
-- Colossians 2:13-14Old Covenant thinking making healing conditional on perfect confession, returning to LAW after Christ paid for ALL sin on the cross.
Psalm 66:18 says 'If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear,' and James talks about confessing sins. You've got unconfessed stuff, so obviously that's blocking breakthrough.
Friends brought a paralyzed man to Jesus through the roof. Jesus's first words: 'Son, your sins are FORGIVEN'—then healed him. He didn't interrogate the man's sin history or require confession of specific failures.
I REFUSE the lie that my healing is conditional on finding hidden sin. IT IS WRITTEN that God has forgiven me ALL trespasses—not most, ALL. The requirement against me was nailed to the cross and taken OUT OF THE WAY. IT IS WRITTEN in Hebrews 10:17 God says 'Their sins and lawless deeds I will remember no more.' If God doesn't remember my sins, I don't need to hunt for them to unlock healing. I am Abraham's seed, under the BARAK blessing that covered him even when he LIED twice. The blessing isn't based on my perfect behavior; it's based on CHRIST'S BLOOD. My Father isn't withholding healing until I confess correctly—He's running toward me with breakthrough RIGHT NOW, fully aware of every failure and loving me completely anyway.
Your Father isn't playing hide-and-seek with your healing, waiting for you to find the 'right sin' to confess. He's already declared you forgiven—all of it—and is moving toward your breakthrough based on His covenant, not your confession accuracy.
