"You need to confess every sin before God will heal you."
How it sounds in your head: You've been scanning your memory for unconfessed sin that might be blocking your healing. Maybe it's that thing you did in your thirties you never told anyone about. Maybe it's resentment toward your brother. Until you identify and confess EVERY sin, God's hand is tied—healing requires a clean slate.
"And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you ALL trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross."

James 5:16 says 'confess your sins' in the healing context, and you know unconfessed sin creates distance from God. The logic seems sound: clean record equals open heaven.
Four friends lowered a paralyzed man through a roof to Jesus. Jesus' FIRST words were 'Son, your sins are forgiven'—THEN 'take up your bed and walk.' The man said NOTHING, confessed NOTHING—Jesus pronounced forgiveness and healing based on His own authority, not the man's confession.
I REFUSE the lie that I must confess every sin before healing. IT IS WRITTEN that He has forgiven me ALL trespasses—past tense, finished work at the cross. His blood covers sins I can't even remember. IT IS WRITTEN in 1 John 1:9 that when I confess, He is faithful to forgive—but Colossians 2:14 says He ALREADY blotted out the record against me. I don't earn healing through perfect confession—I receive it through His perfect sacrifice. The paralytic received forgiveness and healing without confessing—Jesus' authority, not my memory, is the source. I am Abraham's seed where the BARAK protected even liars and deceivers—how much more does Jesus' blood cover me completely.
Your Father isn't withholding healing while you dig through decades of memory trying to find that one unconfessed thing. The blood of Jesus doesn't have gaps. He's running toward you with healing, having ALREADY forgiven everything at the cross—your memory isn't more complete than His finished work.
