"Wealth will corrupt me and pull me away from God, so it's safer to stay where I am."
How it sounds in your head: I see rich people and they seem empty, chasing more, never satisfied. Maybe God keeps me at this income level to protect my soul. If I got a big raise or breakthrough, would I even need Him anymore? Struggle keeps me dependent.
"Let them shout for joy and be glad, who favor my righteous cause; and let them say continually, 'Let the Lord be magnified, who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.'"
-- Psalm 35:27Source: Religion - poverty gospel that makes lack a spiritual safeguard instead of a curse Jesus bore, painting wealth as inherently dangerous.
Jesus warned about wealth choking the word and camels going through needles. Every wealthy person I know seems spiritually shallow. Maybe financial struggle is God's protection plan for my soul.
Abraham was 'very rich in livestock, silver, and gold' - and was called the friend of God. His wealth didn't pull him FROM God; it demonstrated God's BARAK covenant blessing that protected and prospered him even when he lied to kings.
I REFUSE the lie that wealth will corrupt me and God must keep me poor for protection. IT IS WRITTEN: The Lord takes PLEASURE in my prosperity. Wealth doesn't pull me from God - it's a tool to advance His kingdom. Abraham was extremely wealthy and God's friend. The BARAK blessing includes FINANCIAL increase, not just spiritual growth. IT IS WRITTEN: God gives me power to GET wealth, and He trusts me with it because I'm His son, not because I've proven incorruptible. I receive abundance without fear, knowing HE is my source, not my money.
The Father isn't protecting you FROM blessing - He's running toward you WITH it. The ring, robe, and fattened calf aren't tests of your character; they're expressions of His NATURE as a generous Dad.
