"Watching friends die monthly proves you're next and nothing matters."
How it sounds in your head: Another funeral. Another name crossed off the Christmas card list. The circle is shrinking fast. You're in the departure lounge now, just waiting for your flight to be called. Why invest in anything? It all ends soon anyway.
"I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord."
-- Psalm 118:17Enemy using natural mortality to steal present purpose, denying that every day is divine assignment until the last breath.
Obituaries are daily reading, funerals are monthly events, medical appointments outnumber social ones. The finality feels overwhelming and imminent.
Anna was 84 years old, widowed for decades, living in the temple. She could have just existed. Instead, she fasted, prayed, and prophesied. At 84, she was one of the FIRST to recognize the Messiah and proclaimed Him to all who waited for redemption. Her greatest moment came in extreme old age.
I REFUSE the lie that approaching death steals present purpose. IT IS WRITTEN that I shall NOT die but LIVE and declare the works of the Lord - every day I have is loaded with divine assignment. Friends' deaths don't predict my timeline; only the Father knows my days. IT IS WRITTEN in Psalm 139:16 that all my days were written in His book BEFORE one of them came to be - I'm on schedule, not overdue. I am blessed coming in and going out, and the BARAK covenant protects me until my assignment is complete. I LIVE fully until I go home, and I go out DECLARING, not deteriorating.
The Father is running toward you with TODAY'S assignment - not hospice care, but KINGDOM IMPACT. He's been preparing encounters that only happen because you're STILL HERE, and they're about to manifest SUDDENLY.
