"Wanting financial success means I'm materialistic and not spiritual enough."
How it sounds in your head: Every time I check my bank account or want a better job, I feel guilty. Like real Christians shouldn't care about money. My youth pastor always said 'store up treasures in heaven, not on earth.' So wanting to actually make good money feels... dirty.
"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."
-- 3 John 1:2Source: religion. Poverty theology that mistakes struggle for holiness and equates ambition with greed.
Church culture celebrates missionaries living on nothing but side-eyes entrepreneurs. Every sermon about money is a warning, never a blessing. So wanting financial success feels like choosing Mammon over God.
Abraham was 'very rich in livestock, silver, and gold.' God didn't rebuke him for wealth—He GAVE him wealth. The father of our faith was LOADED, and God called him righteous while he was rich, not poor.
I REFUSE the lie that wanting financial success is materialistic. IT IS WRITTEN that God prays I prosper in ALL things—not some things, ALL things. I am Abraham's seed by faith, heir to the BARAK blessing that makes me rich in every area. Christ redeemed me from poverty so the blessing of Abraham could come on me. IT IS WRITTEN that my God supplies all my needs according to His riches in glory. I don't chase money—I'm connected to the Vine, and financial blessing is FRUIT that flows from abiding. The Father runs toward me with the ring of authority and robe of provision. I receive supernatural prosperity NOW.
The Father isn't waiting for you to stop wanting success—He's the One who PLACED that desire in you. Right now, while you're reading this, He's already running toward you with opportunities, connections, and provision you haven't even asked for yet, because that's who He IS.
