"Wanting comfort or financial ease at my age is selfish when I should focus only on eternity."
How it sounds in your head: You're about to meet Jesus and you're still thinking about money? How carnal. How unspiritual. Real saints die poor and unconcerned. Your focus should be heaven, not comfort.
"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."
-- 3 John 1:2Source: religion - Poverty gospel teaching that spirituality equals discomfort and wanting provision means weak faith.
Every sermon says 'store up treasures in heaven, not earth,' and you're at the finish line. Wanting physical comfort feels like you're not ready to die, like you don't really believe in heaven.
At 85 years old, Caleb didn't ask for a retirement community—he demanded the MOUNTAIN with GIANTS on it. God gave him strength, victory, and inheritance in his final years, not just 'spiritual focus.'
I REFUSE the lie that wanting provision at 90+ is unspiritual. IT IS WRITTEN: John prayed I'd prosper in ALL THINGS and be in health—not suffer until death. I am blessed coming in and blessed going out, which includes THIS SEASON. My Father isn't waiting for me to die poor to prove I'm holy—He's the God who gave Caleb a MOUNTAIN at 85. IT IS WRITTEN: The blessing of Abraham is mine through Christ, and Abraham was VERY RICH even in old age. Comfort isn't carnal—it's COVENANT. I receive both heaven's promise AND earth's provision without apology.
Your Father didn't design your final years for deprivation as a test. He's the one who gave manna in the wilderness—He FED them for 40 years, and their clothes didn't even wear out. He cares about your body AND your soul, right to the finish line.
