"Waiting decades means God's answer is no, I just haven't accepted it yet."
How it sounds in your head: Ninety years and still waiting. Maybe mature faith is recognizing God said no and I've been too stubborn to hear it. Perhaps letting go of hope is the final surrender He's requiring.
"For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry."
-- Habakkuk 2:3World teaches that persistence equals delusion and accepting loss equals wisdom, making surrender to defeat sound like spiritual maturity.
Every well-meaning counselor has suggested 'closure' and 'acceptance.' Long delay feels like divine silence that must mean rejection. Letting go of hope seems easier than enduring more disappointment.
Barren for YEARS with no explanation, mocked by rival wife, weeping bitterly, so desperate the priest thought she was drunk. Then 'the Lord REMEMBERED her' - she conceived and bore Samuel, who became prophet to the nation. Years of 'no' became sudden 'YES.'
I REFUSE the lie that waiting decades means God said no. IT IS WRITTEN that though the vision tarries, it will SURELY COME and not lie. Abraham waited 25 years, Anna 60+ years, Hannah years of barrenness - then SUDDEN breakthrough. IT IS WRITTEN that God's gifts and calling are IRREVOCABLE. He doesn't take back promises due to time elapsed. I am Abraham's seed, covenant heir, BARAK carrier. I declare that what He promised He is ABLE to perform. My yes is coming. NOW.
The Father hasn't changed His mind - He's been preparing a YES so magnificent it required this much setup. He's not teaching patience; He's orchestrating a suddenly that will make the wait make sense. The delay is NOT denial.
