"If I force this now, at least I'll see it happen before I die."
How it sounds in your head: I can't afford to wait—I'm in my nineties. If I don't make this happen myself right now, I'll die before it comes. Waiting feels like surrender to dying with nothing. I have to take control while I still can.
"Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: 'Behold, I lay in Zion a stone for a foundation, a tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; whoever believes will not act hastily.'"
-- Isaiah 28:16Enemy + Trauma—the lie that human effort can secure outcomes faster than divine timing and that death makes God's promises void.
The clock is literally running out and every day brings more weakness. Taking action feels like the only way to guarantee seeing results before the end.
Moses tried to force deliverance at age 40 by killing an Egyptian—failed and fled for 40 YEARS. God brought the REAL deliverance at age 80 without Moses lifting a sword—just a staff and obedience, delivering 2 million people instantly.
I REFUSE the lie that I must force outcomes before I die. IT IS WRITTEN that whoever believes will not act hastily. I am not producing Ishmaels in my final days—I rest in the Isaac that God is bringing. My urgency doesn't move God; my faith does. IT IS WRITTEN that the BARAK blessing of Abraham is mine through Christ, and I am blessed coming in and going out, in my timing and in God's. I will not trade God's best for my hurried counterfeit. I rest in His perfect timing.
The Father isn't panicked by your age—He's been preparing your Isaac while you've been sleeping. He doesn't need your striving; He needs your trust. Like He brought water from the rock with Moses' simple obedience, He'll bring your breakthrough without your force. Just rest.
