"Too many miscarriages mean we're doing something wrong spiritually."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe you don't pray enough. Maybe you're in hidden sin. Maybe your marriage has unforgiveness. Healthy Christians don't lose baby after baby—something is spiritually off with you.
"And His disciples asked Him, saying, 'Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?' Jesus answered, 'Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.'"
-- John 9:2-3Religion connects tragedy to spiritual deficiency, making suffering evidence of hidden sin or weak relationship with God.
The church teaching was clear: righteousness brings blessing, sin brings curse. Repeated tragedy must mean repeated spiritual failure. The prosperity message promised health for the faithful, so illness must mean unfaithfulness.
Paul had a 'thorn in the flesh,' a messenger of Satan to buffet him. He asked God three times to remove it. God's response was NOT 'you have hidden sin.' It was 'My grace is sufficient'—affirming Paul's righteousness while acknowledging the enemy's attack.
I REFUSE the lie that tragedy proves spiritual deficiency. IT IS WRITTEN that suffering is not evidence of sin—Jesus said the man born blind suffered so God's works could be revealed. I am NOT under curse; I am under grace. IT IS WRITTEN that God works all things together for good—He doesn't cause tragedy; He redeems it. I am the righteousness of God in Christ, and the enemy's attacks do not disqualify me. My Father is not punishing me; He is fighting FOR me.
Your Father sees a man who has carried false blame for unexplainable loss, and He is running toward you declaring, 'I never blamed you—I've been WITH you in every loss, grieving WITH you, not punishing you.' While religion has accused you of spiritual failure, He's been whispering, 'My grace is sufficient—you are Mine, and nothing can separate you from My love.'
