"This is God's judgment on your family for past sins."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe it's generational—your father's alcoholism, your own past, the divorce, the porn struggle you never fully conquered. Now God's 'visiting the iniquity of the fathers' on your son. This is punishment playing out through generations.
"Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree')."
-- Galatians 3:13Old Covenant teaching + enemy accusation making you believe in inherited punishment.
You see patterns repeating—addiction, rebellion, broken relationships—across generations. Exodus 20:5 talks about iniquity to the third and fourth generation. It feels like a curse you passed down.
Disciples asked Jesus, 'Who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?' Jesus answered: 'NEITHER this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him'—then He healed him instantly. No generational curse, no punishment—just an opportunity for God's glory.
I REFUSE the lie that my son's rebellion is judgment for my past. IT IS WRITTEN that Christ REDEEMED us from the curse—every generational pattern was nailed to the cross. IT IS WRITTEN that the son does NOT bear the father's guilt. Jesus said the blind man's condition wasn't caused by anyone's sin—just an opportunity for God's glory. My past is under the BLOOD. My son is under the BARAK blessing of Abraham by covenant. Generational curses STOP at the cross. I declare breakthrough, not judgment, over my household.
The Father isn't punishing your son for your past—He's already punished Jesus for EVERYTHING at the cross. Your son's story isn't about inherited judgment; it's about inherited BLESSING through Christ's blood.
