"This chronic tiredness means I'm becoming a burden instead of a blessing to others."
How it sounds in your head: You used to help people. Now people have to help you. You can't contribute to family gatherings, can't assist with projects, can't even stay awake through conversations. You're draining others instead of strengthening them. Your presence has become an obligation, not a gift. You're watching yourself become the burden you never wanted to be.
"And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
-- 2 Corinthians 12:9Enemy attacking masculine IDENTITY and worth by tying value to productive output instead of covenant position as beloved son.
You see the effort others expend on your behalf - helping with tasks, checking on you, adjusting plans around your limitations. The role reversal from provider to dependent violates everything you were taught about masculine strength, and you feel the shame of becoming 'needy.'
He was a blind beggar - completely dependent, contributing nothing by society's standards, just crying out from the roadside. Yet his encounter with Jesus became a testimony that has strengthened BILLIONS across two millennia. His 'burden' status became a platform for demonstrating God's power. Jesus called HIM, not the productive people around him.
I REFUSE the lie that my worth is measured by my productivity or independence. IT IS WRITTEN that God's strength is made perfect in weakness, and my current state showcases HIS power, not my failure. I am not defined by what I can DO but by whose I AM - a beloved son carrying the BARAK covenant blessing. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed coming in and going out, that the LORD commands blessing on me - and that blessing flows TO others through my presence, not my performance. Every person who serves me is BLESSED by proximity to a covenant man. I receive my identity as BLESSING, not burden, RIGHT NOW.
The Father doesn't see you as the burden you fear becoming. He sees you as the son He loves, and He's using your weakness as the canvas to paint His strength. Like the father with the prodigal, He doesn't calculate your contribution; He celebrates your PRESENCE. You are loved for WHO YOU ARE, not what you produce.
