"They're confident and I'm anxious—something is fundamentally broken in me."
How it sounds in your head: You watch people move through life with ease and assurance. You second-guess everything, overthink every interaction, battle constant mental noise. They're wired right. You're wired wrong.
"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand."
-- Isaiah 41:10Mental health stigma makes anxiety feel like character flaw or spiritual failure instead of battle requiring weapon, not shame.
The anxiety is REAL, constant, exhausting. Their calm feels biological while your panic feels inescapable—evidence of fundamental defect.
Elijah was suicidal, anxious, wanting to die after massive victory. 'It is ENOUGH! Now, LORD, take my life!' God didn't rebuke him—sent an ANGEL with food, let him sleep, TWICE, then spoke gently. Instant care, not condemnation.
I REFUSE the lie that anxiety means I'm fundamentally broken. IT IS WRITTEN that God has not given me a spirit of fear but of POWER, LOVE, and a SOUND MIND. Anxiety is a battle, not an identity. IT IS WRITTEN: 'Fear not, for I am WITH you'—not 'fear not after you fix yourself.' Elijah battled suicidal thoughts and God sent angels, not accusations. I am righteous in Christ, complete in Him, whole in His eyes. Their calm doesn't make me defective. The BARAK blessing includes peace that passes understanding. I am Abraham's seed—blessed, not broken.
The Father doesn't see you as the anxious one versus the confident ones. He sees you IN CHRIST, running toward you with perfect love that CASTS OUT fear, not shame that piles on.
