"Everyone else had a better life, more time, more purpose—I wasted mine."
How it sounds in your head: You look at the hospice volunteer who's younger and think she's done more. Your granddaughter posts mission trips while you're bedridden. Even the woman in the next room seems to have more visitors, more impact, a fuller legacy.
"For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise."
-- 2 Corinthians 10:12Enemy whispers through comparison at the finish line—trying to steal joy when you're most vulnerable and isolated.
Physical limitation forces you to watch others move while you can't. Social media and visitors parade achievements while you measure output, not intimacy with God.
This man had ZERO ministry, ZERO good works, a lifetime of crime, and hours left to live. Jesus gave him Paradise INSTANTLY—no mission trips, no legacy projects, no time to 'make it count.' Just faith in the final breath.
I REFUSE the lie that my life was wasted because I didn't do what others did. IT IS WRITTEN that God measures by faithfulness, not Facebook posts. I was assigned THIS life, THIS body, THIS timeline, and I fulfilled MY purpose. IT IS WRITTEN that the last shall be first and the first last—Heaven's economy doesn't measure by earthly output. I am the RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN CHRIST, and my value was never in comparison. I walk in the BARAK blessing—blessed coming in and blessed GOING OUT. My legacy is COMPLETE in Him.
The Father isn't comparing your highlight reel to anyone else's. He's been celebrating every hidden prayer, every small obedience, every moment you chose Him when no one was watching—THAT is the legacy that echoes in eternity.
