"There's no hope for the future so don't plan long-term or dream big"
How it sounds in your head: Marriage? Home ownership? Starting a business? All impossible now. The American Dream is dead. Just work your gig job, live with roommates forever, and don't get your hopes up. Previous generations ruined it.
"Then the Lord answered me and said: 'Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.'"
-- Habakkuk 2:2-3Source: Enemy stealing VISION through economic doom, killing dreams before they're even spoken.
He sees friends drowning in debt, housing prices insane, job security gone. Everyone older says 'it was easier for us.' Planning seems foolish when nothing feels stable.
At 85 years old, after 45 years of waiting and wandering, Caleb said 'Give me THIS MOUNTAIN' occupied by giants. Didn't retire, didn't coast—demanded his inheritance and TOOK IT. Age and delay didn't kill his vision.
I REFUSE the lie that this generation has no future. IT IS WRITTEN that God commands me to WRITE THE VISION because it will surely come. My Father hasn't stopped speaking over my future—He's the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, who planned GENERATIONS ahead. IT IS WRITTEN in Psalm 37:25 'I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread.' The BARAK blessing makes me the HEAD and not the tail, ABOVE ONLY and not beneath. I don't accept scraps—I'm taking mountains. I write vision, make plans, dream Kingdom-sized dreams because my God never stopped blessing my future.
The Father is running toward you with a blank check and architectural plans, saying 'Son, draw what you see in your heart—I planted those dreams there. I'm MORE excited about your future than you are.'
