"The world would be better off without me. I'm just a burden taking resources others could use."
How it sounds in your head: You're not contributing enough to justify the space you take. Your job could be done by anyone. Your relationships are one-sided—you take more than you give. If you weren't here, resources would go to people who actually make a difference. You're a net negative.
"Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them."
-- Psalm 139:16Source: Enemy's murderous nature (John 10:10 thief comes to steal, kill, destroy) dressed as logical assessment.
You calculate what you cost versus what you contribute and the math feels wrong. Rent, food, emotional energy from friends, your parents' investment—all for what return? Meanwhile others your age are contributing visibly, measurably, undeniably.
He was crippled, hiding, convinced he was worthless and better off forgotten. King David SOUGHT HIM OUT, restored him to the king's table permanently, and gave him all of Saul's land—not because of what Mephibosheth could offer, but because of covenant. He went from hiding in Lo Debar (place of no pasture) to eating at the king's table for LIFE in one day.
I REFUSE the lie that the world would be better without me. IT IS WRITTEN that God wrote all my days in His book before one of them came to be. Every breath I take is INTENTIONAL, authored by Him. I am not a burden—I am a daughter seated at the King's table by COVENANT, not performance. IT IS WRITTEN there is no condemnation for me in Christ Jesus. The blessing of Abraham is mine—I am blessed coming in and going out, and my presence releases that blessing. I am the righteousness of God in Christ, and that makes me invaluable.
The Father isn't evaluating your cost-benefit ratio—He's already placed you at His table permanently, like Mephibosheth, because of COVENANT. You didn't earn the seat, you can't lose the seat, and He's already killed the fattened calf to celebrate you.
