"The people closest to me betrayed me worst; intimacy always ends in pain."
How it sounds in your head: My spouse of 60 years had secrets. My best friend spread rumors. My child stole from me. The closer they were, the deeper the knife. Distance is wisdom now.
"When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take care of me."
-- Psalm 27:10Enemy: Twists your worst wounds into a formula—intimacy equals pain—to keep you from the Father's closeness.
The math is undeniable: closest proximity produced deepest wounds. She has decades of evidence that intimacy is the highway to heartbreak.
Job's wife told him to curse God and die, his friends accused him falsely, his servants ignored him, even children mocked him. The closest people turned cruelest. Yet Job declared 'I know my REDEEMER lives'—and God restored DOUBLE everything he lost.
I REFUSE the lie that intimacy always ends in pain. IT IS WRITTEN that when father and mother forsake me, the LORD will take care of me (Psalm 27:10). Human intimacy failed, but divine intimacy NEVER will. My Redeemer lives, and He is CLOSE to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed coming in and going out, in the city and in the field (Deuteronomy 28:3,6)—the BARAK covers my relationships, my future, my final days. I declare: the Father's nearness is my good, and His intimacy heals what human closeness destroyed.
Jesus knows betrayal by the closest—Judas kissed Him, Peter denied Him, all fled. He doesn't minimize your pain; He ENTERED it. Now He stands with arms wide: 'I will NEVER betray you. Come close. Let Me show you what intimacy was always meant to be.' The Prodigal's father didn't keep distance—he RAN and EMBRACED while the son still stank of pigs. Your Father is running toward you, not away.
