"The enemy is winning because I keep falling to the same temptations and nothing changes."
How it sounds in your head: I'm trapped in a cycle I can't break. Every time I think I'm making progress, I'm right back where I started. Satan has me locked down and I'm losing ground daily.
"Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it."
-- Colossians 2:15Source: enemy accusation combined with religious teaching that victory requires perfect performance and sustained willpower.
The pattern of struggle feels like evidence of defeat, especially when culture says real men have self-control. The visible battle makes it seem like the enemy has the upper hand.
A man possessed by demons showed up in synagogue where Jesus was teaching. Jesus spoke ONE command and the demon was IMMEDIATELY cast out with no process, no deliverance ministry, no fasting required.
I REFUSE the lie that the enemy is winning my battle. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus disarmed principalities and powers and made a PUBLIC SPECTACLE of them at the cross. The victory is ALREADY won. IT IS WRITTEN in 1 John 4:4 that greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world. I am SEATED with Christ in heavenly places FAR ABOVE all principalities and powers. The enemy is under my FEET, defeated, disarmed, and humiliated. I stand in the BARAK blessing as Abraham's seed - protected even when I stumble, covered by covenant blood, secured by Jesus' finished work.
The Father sees you THROUGH the finished work of Jesus, not through your performance in battle. He's already celebrating your victory because Jesus won it 2000 years ago - you're just discovering what's already true.
