"The enemy is too strong for someone like me to defeat."
How it sounds in your head: You feel the fear, the temptation, the darkness pressing in. It feels massive and you feel small. Grown men fall to this stuff—what chance do you have? The enemy has been doing this for thousands of years; you've been a Christian for what, a few years?
"Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it."
-- Colossians 2:15Source: Enemy magnified his own strength while minimizing the finished work of the cross in your eyes.
The temptation feels overwhelming. The thoughts feel louder than your prayers. You see adults struggle with the same things for years, so you assume the enemy is just too powerful to overcome.
One farmer with an ox goad—a stick for poking cattle—killed 600 Philistine warriors in one day. He wasn't a trained soldier, didn't have a sword, and no one remembers his backstory. He just picked up what was in his hand and delivered Israel that afternoon.
I REFUSE the lie that the enemy is too strong. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus DISARMED him and made a public spectacle of him at the cross. The devil is a defeated, humiliated, weaponless liar pretending he still has power. I am not fighting to win; I am standing in a victory Jesus already accomplished. Greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world. IT IS WRITTEN in 1 John 4:4 that the One in me has ALREADY overcome. I am Abraham's seed, blessed and not cursed, and no weapon formed against me shall prosper.
The Father isn't nervously watching to see if you'll win. He's already celebrating your victory, waiting for you to realize the fight ended at Calvary. The enemy is a chained dog barking loud—you have the authority to muzzle him with one word.
