"The church just wastes money on buildings and salaries—I'd rather give directly to people."
How it sounds in your head: I see the church budget and it's mostly overhead. If I give to a homeless person or a friend in need, at least I know it's actually helping someone tangible and not paying for lights and sound systems.
"Even so the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should live from the gospel."
-- 1 Corinthians 9:14Source: Religion's scandals and mismanagement breeding justified suspicion that sabotages covenant blessing.
There have been real church financial scandals and seeing money go to buildings while people suffer feels wrong. Direct giving seems more pure and accountable.
God sent RAVENS—unclean scavenger birds—to feed Elijah bread and meat twice a day during famine. If God can use unreliable birds to deliver provision, He can handle how churches manage budgets while still blessing your obedience.
I REFUSE the lie that I need to police where my tithe goes. IT IS WRITTEN that those who preach the gospel should live from the gospel, and supporting the local storehouse is biblical, not wasteful. God used ravens to feed Elijah—if He can trust scavenger birds, He can handle church budgets. IT IS WRITTEN to bring tithes to the storehouse, and my obedience to that releases the Malachi 3:10 promise over MY life. I give to the house of God and to individuals as led, but I don't withhold covenant obedience because of suspicion. The BARAK blessing follows my worship, not my auditing.
Your Father sees your heart for the poor and He celebrates it—AND He still invites you to the storehouse. He's not asking you to judge the church's spending; He's asking you to trust Him with the windows of heaven over your obedience.
